Boogie Woogie Ladies

Most of the boogie artists always have been and still are men. Women mostly were considered to be not more than pretty background objects and had to face all kinds of discrimination and sexual harassements. Most of them were singers, when playing instruments they were just seen in women orchestras, where not the quality of their musical skill where important, but how they looked like in their fancy dresses.
But amazing women persued their musical career against all social obsticals, and not just but singers, but as brilliant instrumentalists.  Woman like Hazel Scott and Martha Davis strongly influenced the musical scene and also encouraged upcoming female boogie artists to follow their footprints. On our video site we try to show outstanding examples..
